Reinforced Bituminous Liner (RBL) is a waterproof geosynthetic barrier comprising bitumen reinforced with high-strength glass fibers. STRUCTURE

The structure of a RBL typically consists of multiple layers designed to provide impermeability, durability, and mechanical strength:

Reinforcement Layer

This layer is constructed from a robust non-woven geotextile, which serves as the backbone of RBL

It provides exceptional tensile strength and dimensional stability, enabling the liner to endure substantial mechanical stresses, deformations, and challenging installation conditions.

Bituminous Coating

The core waterproofing component, this layer is made of elastomeric bitumen enhanced with polymers such as SBS.

It delivers outstanding impermeability to water, ensuring a reliable barrier against seepage and leaks.

The bituminous coating also exhibits excellent resistance to a wide range of aggressive chemicals, making it suitable for harsh industrial and environmental conditions.

Surface Protection Layer

This layer consists of fine sand, which serves to shield the geomembrane from external damage.

It enhances the membrane's resistance to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, abrasion, and the effects of prolonged exposure to environmental weathering.

By providing additional durability, this layer helps extend the service life of the geomembrane under extreme conditions.

Anti-Perforation Film

An advanced coating designed to prevent root penetration and perforation, safeguarding the integrity of the geomembrane in areas prone to vegetation growth.
